Announcements:
  • Next week we will have a Club Assembly during which we will induct John Mancini, Michelle Hinton, Christian Tynan, Marie Osborne, Nadine McBride and Dan Graziano.
  • Students are being placed now for the 2018-19 school year for the Rotary exchange program.  If you would like to host a student, please let Kathleen know.  The total commitment for 12 months is $2,000, which can be shared by two families hosting six months each.
  • The Tigers are inquiring about the Pancake Breakfast on opening day.  Jim O’Shea will contact the Little League.
  • Rodney is looking for a location to store the coats for next year’s coat drive.
  • Club members are encouraged to email Mary Richardson or Kevin Wickless with the name and contact info of proposed speakers. Mary or Kevin will follow up directly with all proposed speakers.
  • The Rotary District Conference will be held on June 1st through the 3rd in Burlington VT.
  • Diversity Day 2018 will be September 17 (Rain date: Sept 24) and there will be a Peace Pole commemoration on September 21. The first planning meeting will take place on March 12 at the Savings Institute at 2 o’clock.
  • The 4 Way Test Speech semi-finals are March 10 and 21 at Slater.at NFA.
  • The District Assembly and 4-Way Test finals will be April 7 at the 4-Points Sheraton in Meriden.
  • RYLA is May 11-14 at Camp Hazen.
  • Culture for Coats, a bourbon and spirit tasting, will be held April 30 at Three Rivers at 5:30.
  • The Presidential project is up to $403.
  • The No-show Gala has topped $5000 and keeps on rolling on. Make your contributions and encourage your friends to do the same.
  • The Golf Tournament will be held on September 5th.

The Board of Directors has tentatively approved Michelle Hinton for membership. If any current Rotarian knows of a reason why the candidate should not become a member, an objection stating the reason must be submitted in writing to the Board of Directors within fourteen (14) days of the date of this posting. E-mail to the President or Secretary may be used. If no objections are filed within that time, the candidate shall be considered elected to membership and a date for formal induction set.

Bonnie gave for Andrew’s financial advice and for our 100th anniversary in two years from now.  has lots of Club memorabilia.  Bonnie asked for a volunteer to write the Club’s history.

Without our scheduled speaker, Club members were left to their own devices.  Kathleen suggested “clean” jokes, many of which were real groaners.
 
 
Kathleen led us in the Four-Way Test to close our meeting.
